Hello, I'm Cheryl!

I’m a licensed and professional cosmetologist based near Burlington, Vermont. I was born and raised a New Englander.  I am a wife and mom of two daughters (three if you count my Egyptian Mau). Ever since I was little, I was always painting my babysitters nails and practicing how to style my cousins hair. The older I got, I was constantly the go-to when it came to hair, nails, and make up. My aunt suggested I go to school for cosmetology and I discovered what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. Beauty has always been a way of expressing oneself and I pride myself in helping clients enhance their natural beauty, express themselves and feel confident in who they are. Visit my linktree here!

My Experience

Starting out in 1989, I developed my talents at the Continental Academie Hair of Design, Catherine Hinds Institute of Esthetics, and the L'Oreal Professional Academy Education NY . I quickly excelled in each institute and was consistently at the top of my classes. I was also fortunate to study under Frederic Fekkai, a French stylist that is known for working with celebrities.

After graduating from my first phase of institutes, I continued my education by joining a salon and beginning my official, licensed career. I began my journey at Studio 6 Salon & Spa where I was able to keep up with all of the current trends and techniques. I had a clientele retention rate of 95% all while working at Studio 6 and managing the spa area.  After about 4 years, I transitioned into Cassandra the Appearance Domain where I began educating other apprentices and continued to serve my clients. 2 years later, I decided it was time that I start up my own business and from 1996 to 2020, I was solely focused on hair, nails, and makeup.

Obviously, the beginning of covid put a damper on most businesses. As nails and hair were not considered essential, I had to figure out another way to occupy my time. I began to improve upon my nail designs, using fake nails to continue working on my artwork and creative mind. I soon realized that if people can't come to me to get their nails done, I could get the nails to them. Thus, Anchored to You was founded.

My Products

The products that I use are professional quality. The press-on nails are made up of a soft gel, not plastic or acrylic. The soft gel tips are thin and flexible so they are crack resistant whereas other materials tend to be less structurally sound. They are made with a reinforced free edge, a strong apex, and thin side walls for the perfect balance between beautiful, natural, and strong enhancements.

The materials that adhere the press-on nails to the natural nails are double-side glue tabs versus a double-side pre-adhered sticky tape. You can also use the adhesive provided. This helps keep your press-on nails adhered to the natural nails for a longer period of time.

Unlike the press-on nails you buy at a drugstore or the dollar store, these nails are created to be long lasting and completely custom down to the size and measurements. They are made specific to each client.

A majority of my products are by Luxa Polish - they have completely changed the game for me. The quality of their products are completely off the charts and affordable. They offer prep + finish coats, polishes, art, tools and a Luxa loyalty program for everyone - professionals can submit their license to get access to better perks! Luxa's top coat is stain, scratch and chip resistant, which is why I fell in love with the product initially. To shop Luxa products click here and get 15% off!
